i have used tool post grinders and an adapter to hold a die grinder.. basically i used to put a mirror type finish on internal pump mixer parts using Cratex rubberized abrasive stones. these stones can do a nice job. normally i only took 0.0005" at a time as i was improving surface finish and not wanting to take a lot of material off.

This is a ball turner I completed. The Idea came form the 7X turner on this web site. It fits my 9X lathe. What appears to be rust on the handle is a refection from something, the handle is stainless. You can see the first ball on the end of the handle.

A tool post grinder can be handy. BUT, it can also be a death call to the lathe it's used on. The grinding swarf that it makes can destroy precision mating surfaces. When using, cover everything well! And I would get some white, pink and diamond wheels for it. Generic belts are easy to find.

Looking for my first lathe for light home use. This lathe is for sale not too far from me. It's listed as a CF 918. I've never heard of that brand, does anyone know anything about it? I assume it has a 9 inch bed swing and 18 inch between centers. Will it be able to handle light milling on a mill slide? Are parts available?

Knee mill if you look around you can get a decent full size Bridgeport or clone for less then the hf half size knee mill. What gets expensive is all the other tools.
