For the third batch, I adjusted the MM-3 down slightly to a 0.033" gap. I also ran some grain through my 2-roller mill with this same 0.033" gap to do a qualitative/visual comparison. The 2-roller mill had a small amount of whole kernels that hadn't been cracked at this gap setting, whereas the 3-roller MM-3 had cracked every kernel.
Email Monster and they'll probably try to talk you out of the MM3 2.0. They tried with us and we didn't listen. This is a big, heavy mill. The crush is many times better than using LHBS 2 roller mill. And it goes fast. It was a pain to set up initially, but it's easy going now. I would buy it again wiyhout a second thought.
Even after a thorough cleaning, the passive roller is still having trouble spinning. I'm thinking, perhaps mistakenly, that the Monster Mill's (MM2-2.0 or MM3-2.0) larger rollers (and increased surface area) would make a difference. The Monster Mill also has oil impregnated bushings, which I think might help prevent this situation.
My Monster Mill is set to 0.038" and I expect and routinely get mid 80s % efficiency for my mid-gravity beers. I haven't messed around with it deliberately, but it did loosen up over the course of about a year and a half or so. When I noticed the efficiency drop, sure enough the gap had widened significantly.
I opted to go with the Monster Mill MM3. Really nice mill. I'd highly recommend it. On the maiden grind before my last brew I ground 1 lb of my grain bill to see how it worked. And right away I noticed how much finer the crush was compared to what I was getting from the store. I have my mill set at 0.045" gap.
I use the Kegco 3 roller mill, with a 1/2" low speed high torque drill. My gap setting is .025" (which is a bit less than credit card thickness, which run ~.032"). I set the gap when I first got it, and haven't adjusted it since. I've been using it for 3 years. I've never had any of the problems described in this thread.

MM3 mounted to my mill stand. I used some 2×4 scrap to make the legs and framing, just high enough to get a large bucket under. Enter this mill. Two words: Game Changer. This mill rips through grain. Assembly was easy despite the lack of instructions; most of it was common sense. Setting the mill gap took a bit to figure out, but once I realized how the cams move the adjustable roller it made sense. The .032 setting made for a perfect crush for my eBIAB rig.
