I'd be pissed if it was $50 like most marginal flat burr grinders. I doubt you'd get any better without going for a decent hand-crank or getting into the ~$100 conical burr options. Think of this as a value play. My regular coffee grinder needed to be replaced so I opted for the super inexpensive Ambiano Burr Mill.

The movement of the runner on top of the bedstone creates a "scissoring" action that grinds grain trapped …
Burr mills or crushers have two roughened quality cast iron plates . One plate is stationary and the other one rotates. Grain feed between the plates is crushed and sheared. Type and spacing of plates determines fineness of the feed. These mills are better adapted to grinding coarse grains than hammer mills.
Coffee Grinders vs. Burr Coffee Mills. Start your day out on the right foot with the help of a coffee grinder in the kitchen. Buy your favorite beans, store them in stylish kitchen canisters and then prepare them with either a bladed coffee mill or burr coffee grinder. Not sure what the difference is between the two styles?
Burr mills for grinding spices I'm looking to buy something to grind spices with, and I'm trying to decide between a mortar and pestle or a coffee grinder (either blade or burr). I was thinking of getting a manual burr mill coffee grinder, but I've seen a few comments on here recommending against them, without providing rationale.
